Subsequently, I worked as a trainman and conductor for the CPR for nearly 10 years.  My father "PAPA JOE" was a CNR  locomotive engineer and his favourite summer run was to Grand Beach.  I was attracted to railroading because of him.

Real Estate Broker in Winnipeg and later at Grand Beach.
My first job (while I attending "pre medicine" at The University of Manitoba), was as the Lifeguard at Minaki Lodge, summer of 1940. The CNR operated Minaki Lodge primarily as mid-continent stop over for  passengers travelling across Canada.  Wealthy Americans came to Minaki for fishing and hunting.  Few Winnipeg people could afford to holiday at Minaki Lodge.
